Just a causal show up and play. There are tournaments etc that get taking a bit more serious. One of the Auckland guys moved up to Whangarei and has some mallets and balls but never got it going up there. I can put you in contact with him if you want to try and get it started. The Taupo organisers have kindly arranged billets for us, so get in quick to secure yourselves accomodation, before you are left to sleep outside in a bivvy bag.
